ALEXASCHA is an eco-friendly fashion adornment brand born in 2012 in Hamburg, Germany.
Inspired by Bauhaus with its aesthetics, functionality, and durability, ALEXASCHA goes even further with sustainability, avoiding fast-fashion trends. Founder, owner and company muse Alexandra says that the keys to creating the brand were conscious decisions and sustainable consumption. Just as Alexandra found her calling in developing ecologically conscious fashion accessories, we discovered ours in helping this beautiful business reach its target metrics.
About the project
Our client, ALEXASCHA, needed help with their current website. They wanted to make some changes to increase profits and improve business processes: there was a real opportunity to increase the benchmark 5% conversion rate to 10–15%. To meet this challenge, ALEXASCHA wanted to update their website to increase performance.
As the conversion rate was only part of what ALEXASCHA wanted to fix, we decided to change the whole customer journey. Increasing the traffic volume meant that the website had to become more comfortable for visitors. Increasing the website speed and allowing ALEXASCHA employees to make changes without the help of third parties were also desired outcomes.
WooCommerce couldn’t cover those needs, so after our analysis, we concluded that migration to Shopify would be the best option, and our journey began.
Key challenges and project scope
01
Increase in conversions
Optimize the user experience and user interface to increase conversions (purchases, registrations, subscriptions, etc.).
02
Need for a mobile version
Develop and optimize the mobile version of the site to ensure ease of use and attract a mobile audience.
03
Analytics
Adjust Google Analytics to start collecting useful data for creating reports and other purposes.
04
Compatibility and adaptive design
Make the site fully compatible with various browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and devices (PCs, tablets, mobile phones).
05
Security
Apply all necessary security measures to protect user data and payment transactions, and use SSL encryption to ensure secure data transfer.
06
Download speed
Minimize page loading times to improve the user experience and increase conversions. Optimize images, scripts, and styles to reduce page size and speed up loading.
07
Data structure
Perform complicated migrations that may necessitate the manual transfer of some files from WordPress.
08
Theme restrictions
Although the new Shopify theme was flexible enough, ALEXASCHA still required greater customizability for individual items than the theme could provide.
Steps for a successful transfer
Step 1
Analyze
We carefully examined the current website and all plugins used to choose the right platform for migration.
Step 2
Choose the target platform
Based on our research, we thought that two other platforms – Shopify and BigCommerce – could be a nice match. Our vote was for Shopify, as it would give the opportunity to grow but would be more likely to fit the budget. We helped our client make the right choice according to their goals and plans.
Step 3
Pick a theme
Our client chose a theme with blocks and animations, and we made sure it could be nicely optimized for a mobile version.
Step 4
Migrate
We migrated all data, from orders to FAQs on the blog.
Step 5
Perform user acceptance testing
After UAT was done, we got feedback and implemented minor tweaks.
Step 6
Release
After implementing changes, we retested the website and released it to the public.
Step 7
Finalize
After the public release, we adjusted the plugins and provided smoke testing of the product.
Expected results
Up to 15% conversion rate increase
Adaptive design will be fully compatible with different browsers and devices
Mobile version of the site will offer a great user experience
Pages will download twice as fast (compared to the previous platform)
Zero reports of security breaches from users or search engines
*We’ll update these metrics in a little while – stay tuned!

Client testimonial
The Dinarys team helped us migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify. We are very happy with the result. The shop has retained its design, but the speed and checkout have improved enormously. This means we can now invest in marketing without having to accept any waste. I would particularly like to emphasize the friendly and effective communication and adherence to deadlines. Thank you for the excellent work!
Your issue can turn into a successful case as well!
