Data migration with multilingual support

The myfelt store’s diverse customer base necessitated a robust data migration strategy that could seamlessly handle multiple languages. The process was not just about transferring product listings and categories but also ensuring that all product descriptions, reviews, and other web content were accurately migrated in their respective languages.

This process required a keen focus on preserving the semantic integrity of content across languages to avoid miscommunication or loss of information. The challenge was to maintain the same user experience in all languages, ensuring that product details, including specifications, pricing, and availability, remained consistent and accurate post-migration.

PDF generator for customized orders

The myfelt store allows users to customize their own rugs, and to support this unique feature, we developed a custom PDF generator as part of the Shopify migration. This tool was designed to capture customizations made by customers – such as color, size, design, and material choices – and accurately reflect them in a PDF order summary.

The purpose of this PDF generator was twofold: first, to provide customers with a detailed confirmation of their customized order, enhancing their confidence and satisfaction with the purchase; and second, to facilitate a smooth manufacturing process by sending these detailed PDF orders directly to the production units. This ensured that manufacturing entities received precise specifications, reducing errors and improving efficiency in the production of customized rugs.

We undertook a comprehensive migration of myfelt’s online store from the Magento platform to Shopify.
